Now let’s get this straight. A recent Perrier nominee and the brand new team captain on Channel Four’s ‘8 out of 10 Cats.’ Together with a brand new sketch show from the winners of BBC 3’s national Funny Hunt in 2006?
Newsflash
We’re spoiling you now, but the legendary Anvil Springstien will compere the last night of the Festival, featuring Jason Manford & Shameless Films on 21 July. This will allow overall festival compere James Harris to concentrate on his hilarious stuff with Shameless Films on that particular night. That will be all.

Jason Manford:

- Brand new team captain on Channel Four’s ‘8 out of 10 Cats.’
- Perrier nominee 2005.
- XFM Manchester breakfast show host.
- Jason was recently called a “fatty” by ex Mirror editor Piers Morgan in front of over 2 million viewers on national TV.
- Jason took the insult on his chins. But he decided to do something about it. He sat in his room and cried.
- Then he joined a gym, but got knocked out of a tennis competition by a 70 year-old driving instructor from Wigan. And after failing his driving test six times he really needed to win that last set!
- This new show is great fun. A light-hearted look at some of Jason’s favourite things; football, Manchester and food.
- “Hilarious.” Johnny Vegas.
- “Very funny.” Peter Kay.
- “Witty and Engaging.” The Sunday Times
Shameless Films:

- ‘Why I Hate Mechanics.’
- Obligatory Festival double act (James Harris & George Howell)
- Brand new live sketch show
- Winners of BBC 3’s national Funny Hunt 2006
- Their zero-budget comedy films, sketches and cartoons have already been shown in the UK by the BBC, ITV and MTV, by Blip TV and Rooftop Comedy in the US, and also at film festivals worldwide.
- But this year they are going live for the first time with their debut Edinburgh show.
- James Harris said: “Mechanics make me feel stupid and unmanly for not knowing what a flange bracket does. So I channelled those feelings of resentment and impotent rage and ended up with a very funny sketch. And hating mechanics was just the beginning. I delved into my subconscious and discovered that I hate pretty much everybody, so the choice of targets became quite random. Doctors, artists, jigsaws, sharks; they’re all on my list.”
- “One of the funniest things we’ve ever seen.” 4Laughs
