Wed 18 July: Norman Lovett & Jason Cook
Right. A comedy legend and one of the most hotly tipped names for this year’s Edinburgh. Together. On the same night. Ah, go on then.
Norman Lovett:

- ‘Norman Lovett’s Slideshow.’
- The veteran stand-up and Red Dwarf star prepares for his 10th Edinburgh show (at least). Norman says: "If you only go to one show this year, don't bother coming to mine you tight gits! Seriously, it'll be funny!"
- ‘Holly’ in Red Dwarf.
- One of the first comics to play the original Comedy Store, and even supported The Clash!
- Voiceover work includes the obligatory adverts for BMW and Sugar Puffs. Obviously.
- Considers himself to be a stand-up comedian who can act a bit, and has yet to appear in a pantomime.
- “Exquisite stand-up comedy.” The Guardian
- “It’s not an act – the man really is this funny.” The Scotsman
- “The man is a natural born comic. His delivery is so deadpan he makes Jack Dee seem like Ken Dodd.” Edinburgh Evening News
Jason Cook:

- ‘My Confessions’
- ‘Another tour de force of comedy by award nominated comic Jason Cook, writer and performer of “Die Clatterschenkenfietermaus” (2005) and “Die Clatterschenkenfietermaus vs. Malcolm and Mirriam” (2006).
- The Devil makes work for idle hands. Thankfully, Jason has taken up your share. A collection of true stories covering shame, love, death and redemption.
- Jason’s style of stand-up is storytelling. However, in order to work the clubs the length and breadth of the country, sometimes the stories have to be changed so that weekend audiences, often the mainstay of stags, hens and office parties, will have the knob joke they have been waiting to hear. However, the true versions of the stories are actually funnier, just not as filthy. It says here.
- “A great comedy mind.” BBC Comedy Unit
- “Top comic.” The Metro
